What are terms of faculty appointments?
Faculty appointed on an “academic year” basis are required to be in attendance at the University from September 1 to commencement, or an equivalent period, within each academic year.
Faculty appointed on a “calendar year” basis are required to be in attendance twelve months of the year, with the exception of one month of vacation. These appointments run from July 1 to June 30.
How are faculty members paid when working on an academic-year basis?
Faculty salaries are advanced over the summer for work anticipated throughout the year in order to ensure uninterrupted pay and benefits.
What are the terms of TA and GA appointments?
Article 12 of the agreement provides that teaching and graduate assistants must be notified (in writing) of their status for the coming academic year on or before April 30 for Fall semester appointments and October 31 for Spring semester appointments. This notification must indicate whether TA/GAs have been reappointed, not reappointed, or placed on a waiting list.
