Your Presence Matters:
Be an Observer at a Rutgers Post Doc
Negotiation Session
From time to time, we may request your presence as an observer during negotiations
This type of action is not a rally. Rather the presence of rank-and-file members of the union bargaining unit sends a quiet, dignified message that you want negotiations to proceed to a negotiated settlement that addresses the issues that are important to you: we are currently seeking improvement in the university management's support for employees dealing with visa issues, to secure salary increases, a provision for paid leaves, and to establish professional working conditions at Rutgers.
Improving post doc working conditions at Rutgers will have an indirect impact on working conditions for post docs across the country. We are leading the way and you can help by being present for as little as 15 to 30 minutes. When many postdocs show up, the strength of the message becoming stronger as each person's adds his or her presence.
